About Me.
Hi, my name is Luke Hamaty, and I am a Senior Finance major at Penn State with a minor in Information Systems Management, and I am an incoming Energy Proprietary Trading Analyst at FP Capital Partners.
I write for trading firms that value discipline, risk management, and consistent execution. I want readers to see me as reliable and analytically driven, and to feel confident in my ability to execute trades while minimizing downside risk through structured, disciplined decision-making.

Core Values & Inspiration
I am guided by discipline, integrity, resilience, accountability, and adaptability. I was introduced to financial markets through my uncle, Frank, who became my earliest mentor and shaped how I think about risk, opportunity, and capital preservation. These values guide how I prepare, perform, and lead.
Unique Strengths
What sets me apart is my ability to persist through difficult environments while maintaining performance. I make fast, structured decisions under pressure and am known for being dependable, composed, and supportive. I bring clarity and stability to teams, especially when the stakes are high.
Quantifiable Facts
-
Managed five personal investment portfolios using both technical and fundamental analysis
-
Positively impacted more than 1,000 Penn State students through financial mentoring, organizational leadership, and market guidance
-
Conducted sector-focused research in Materials and lower-rated companies for over one year
-
Earned Dean’s List honors for six consecutive semesters with a 3.94 GPA
I am known for my strong passion for financial markets and pursuit of financial independence. A defining experience in my life was earning the Best Sports Anchor award in the Tri-State Region during high school. This achievement was especially meaningful because I had previously struggled with a speech impediment and challenges in reading and writing. That moment shaped my resilience, strengthened my confidence, and continues to influence how I approach communication, leadership, and adversity.
“Your future is built in the moments you choose discipline over comfort and consistency over excuses.” — Personal Guiding Principles

Personal Statement
I will help trading firms make smarter, lower-risk decisions by combining disciplined market analysis with fast, structured execution, leading to more consistent and controlled trading performance.
